Thu, 5 Dec DAY Lilydale to Mooroolbark. Catch Metro to Lilydale. Walk to Lillydale Lake (28 hectares) and Park, alongside Olinda Creek, around and through wetlands and on the Melbourne Water Pipe Track. Wander around "Bickley Vale" an English woodlands village designed in the 1920s by Edna Walling. The walk finishes at Mooroolbark station (Lilydale line). This walk was last on the BBC Trip Program in April 2013. Please don't book unless you are sure of being on the walk. E 12 km
Sat, 7 Dec DAY Silvan Reservoir to Mount Evelyn Circuit. A 14 km circuit from Silvan to Mt Evelyn climbing through the forest then returning via old aqueduct tracts. We will climb about 490m in total with a number of hills that are very steep both up and down. The walk will provide you with a good workout to help with the possible over indulgences this time of year offers!. For your efforts you will be rewarded with a beautiful walk through mountain ash, grey gum, manna gum and messmate and many colourful birds especially kookaburras. M 14 km
Sat, 7 Dec CYC Mordialloc Railway Station to Arkobar Cafe in Moorabbin. Meet at 8.30 am Mordialloc Railway Station ride bike paths beside Mordialloc Bypass freeway down to Moorabbin Arkobar for coffee then return to Mordie station. E 20 km
Sun, 8 Dec DAY Daylesford Wombat Creek. A pleasant walk featuring Lake Daylesford, Jubilee Lake, the Goldfields Track, forest paths, the Lost Children Walk, and mineral springs. In the afternoon the path follows the route of the old Creswick-Daylesford Railway (which was constructed in 1867 and closed in 1953). M 14 km
Thu, 12 Dec DAY Beyond my back gate. Explore some of the backroads and footpaths of North Warrandyte. Some delightful sections along the Yarra River as well as some descent ascents and descents. Great views towards the Dandenongs and city skyline. Afternoon tea within my back gate. M/H 18 km
Thu, 12 Dec CYC Mordialloc, Dandenong creek trail and Waterways. Meet in Mordialloc on the bridge over the Mordialloc creek at 0930. We will travel south through parkland towards Patterson Lakes, then head north east along the Dandenong creek trail towards the Dandenong bypass. A rest stop at Keshava reserve, then back down the the trail to Pillars road, along this through some farmland towards Waterways. Lunch at Waterways cafe (BYO or buy lunch). Back about 3 km to Mordialloc via the Mordialloc creek track, dodging magpies on the way. M 28 km
Sat, 14 Dec DAY Sandy to Mentone - Bay trail return. Meet at the Rotunda in Sandringham, just down from train station, and walk the Bay trail to Mentone beach. Return with view of our glorious bay and period houses from the other direction. No sand walking, some sealed surfaces but mostly unseared including the bush track south of Ricketts Point Tea House. M 16 km
Sun, 15 Dec DAY Mornington to Mount Martha. Meet at Fisherman's Beach carpark at 9.00am start walking at 9.15am. We will walk to Mt Martha along the cliff tops with views of the bay. We will be having brunch at a Cafe in Mt Martha with a return trip through the Estuary Board walk then back along the Esplande cliff tops back to the cars. E 12 km
Wed, 18 Dec DAY Sherbrooke Forest West. This is a relatively easy circuit walk which we should be able to walk in approximately 4 hours. The start and finish is at Grant's Picnic Ground. Travel time to the start is approximately 1 hour from Bayside. It is a suitable walk for new members. E 12 km
Thu, 19 Dec DAY Thursday Christmas Walk. Annual Christmas walk through Melbourne's iconic parks and gardens. Commencing at Albert Park Lake and continuing via the Shrine, Botanical Gardens, Yarra Park, Fitzroy and Treasury Gardens to Birrarung Marr and finishing at Federation Square. E 12 km
