Mon, 2-7 Sep BC Cowan, Berowra and beyond. Expressions of interest for this excellent but challenging base camp. Walkers need to have very strong walking ability and meet requirements of accommodation ( see below) Explore remote parts of the Great North walk ( steep and hard sections). Transport to / from walks by train, taxi, bus. Maybe wildflowers out along the route. Arrival day is Monday 2nd September and departure day is Sunday morning 7th September. H 18 km
Fri, 27 Dec- 1 Jan 2025 BC Howmans Gap Falls Creek Base Camp. This popular fully catered base camp offers five night’s accommodation including 3 meals per day in the YMCA Lodge near Falls Creek with a variety of daily walks (easy to challenging or just take the day off). There will be people from Diamond Valley, Koonung, Waverley, Essendon and Bayside Bushwalking clubs and includes a New Year's Eve celebration. Accommodation is in bunk rooms (bottom bunks only). Thu, 9 May CON Track clearing of Freemans Mill Track. Track clearing from adjacent to Wombat Syphon to the boardwalk. There will be an opportunity for volunteers to camp at Freemans Mill Campground on the Wednesday night of 08 May following the installation of stepping stones. E 5 km
Fri, 17-19 May CON AAWT Low Saddle to Mt McDonald. Clearing of the AAWT from Low Saddle to Mt McDonald. M 5 km
Wed, 5 Jun CON Freemans Mill Track - continue building stone steps. Continue building stone steps on the steep section of the track. E 1 km
Thu, 9 May DAY Wattle Glen and Kangaroo Ground. Travel by Metro to Wattle Glen (Hurstbridge line) the least used station on the suburban network. Walk to Yirrip Reserve (Kangaroo Ground) with some nice ridge line views along the way. Yirrip Reserve has remnant stands of Red Ironbark trees and on a clear day the northern hillcrest provides a panoramic view in almost all directions. At the end of the walk, board Metro at Wattle Glen to Flinders Street arriving 3:46pm. Please don't book unless you are sure of being on the walk. M 14 km
Sat, 11 May DAY Balt camp circuit. A circuit walk from Nolan's picnic ground walking out to the highest point in the Wombat state forest passing lovely fern gullies. See Balt calp ruins, a work camp for displaced persons from the Baltic states after World war 11, working for the Forestry Commission. Walk on part of the great Dividing Trail and pass several mine shafts before returning to the picnic ground. M 15 km
Sun, 12 May DAY London Bridge - Bay of Isles. A scenic beach and cliff walk in the Mornington Peninsula National Park, with lunch on the beach. M 14 km
Sat, 18 May DAY Warburton - Backstairs track, Mt Little Joe track rail trail. A circuit walk climbing the Back stairs track, along the Mt Little Joe track to Westburn and return via the rail trail Enjoy the heavily timbered areas which once provided timber for local sawmills and enjoy the historical avenue of honour along the rail trail section. M/H 16 km
Sun, 19 May DAY No 16 beach. Meet at No 16 beach carpark at 9.00am. Commence walking at 9.15am. Walk down Marcia Ave and along Melbourne Rd and the National Park. Morning tea at Skinners Reserve. Lunch either at Pierces Beach or Dimmicks Beach. The track through the National Park is sandy and rocky with roots sticking up. Come and enjoy the day on the Mornington Peninsula. M 15 km
